The Music For Our Thriller

For a Psychological thriller opening, we need the music to go with it. I felt that I was responsible for putting together the music for our thriller because I'm also a music student and playing an instrument gives me an advantage.
I started to watch thriller movies and listen out for the music. All the films that I watched had background music that sunk in with the frilm. Sometimes you don't notice the music until you decide to listen out for it.
The music for the thriller needed to sound slow mysterious to have more of an effect on the audience. This method will keep the audience guessing. Alos, because the music for our thriller souinds orchestral and classical, I believe that the film will be for a more sophisticated audience and will broaden the age range for viewers. During the editing stage, we needed to use dynamics for our music, especially when our characters start to speak we needed to gradually drop the volume then slowly back up. We couldn't suddenly change the volume because the audience would notice, and sudden dynamics are not used in thriller movies, only graduall.

Editing Stage- What We Did

The next stage after uploading our film was to make a start on the editing. I thought that this was the most important part because we can make our film turn out the way we want it to.
After shooting our preliminary task and editing it, we only knew the very basics of editing. We managed to get more used to final cut pro during our preliminary task so we managed to work alot quicker with our thriller opening.
First of all, we started to choose shots that we were sure of using for our opening and getting rid of the ones that we don't want. Afterwards, we had to cut down certain shots so that the shot will flow with the next. This makes the film look more professional, as you can see we used that method alot for our film.
We also had to make sure that certain shots were put together made sense because certain objects would be in a different position, and we wanted the film to run smoothly rather than the film being really jumpy when it came to the editing.
We also had to make some scenes darker by messing around with the contrast. By making the screen darker, it gives more of an effect on the audience.

Pre-production: The means and ways

naturally for our idea that was chosen it would take quit a bit of organization. First of all we need a nice big house to set the scene. We where struggling to think of a place to set it in, but shanice came the rescue asd her aunt lioved in a nice big house which was perfect for what we needed. also we need our actors tpo star in our opening. For that we manged to get my dad david hinds and Tia simon-cambell to act in it we glad they where the prime chioce for actors. Also my dad had the car we needed to to see in the beginning. Finally we need the pictures of the girls and for asecond time Shanice came up withthe idea of using polaroids getting girls to pose in college to have there photos used in the film especilly as thyey would be stalker type photots.
